I'm on leave!
This homepage is not updated anymore. I'm on leave from ICG to the Computer Vision Laboratory at ETH-Zurich on October 1, 2008. Please visit my new homepage there.
Short CV
Helmut Grabner received a MSc degree (Dipl.-Ing.) in Telematics and a PhD degree (Dr.techn) in Computer Science, both from Graz University of Technology in 2004 and 2008, respectively. He is currently a postdoc researcher at the Computer Vision Laboratory at ETH-Zurich. His research interests are mainly machine learning for computer vision (object detectin, tracking and recognition) in particular in the field of visual surveillance. He serves as a program committee member for the major computer vision conferences ICCV, ECCV, and CVPR and is routinely reviewing for IEEE Trans. PAMI and Pattern Recognition.

Research
My research focuses on machine learning methods especially on-line learning and there applications in computer vision. Such as fast and robust object tracking and recognition as well as improving classifiers for object detection by on-line unsupervise learning.
- Semi-supervised On-line Boosting for Robust Tracking
- On-Line Boosting
- Stable unsupervised on-line learning: Is Person Detection Really a Hard Task?
- Real-Time Tracking using On-line Boosting
- Tracking via Discriminative Online Learning of Local Features
